Vice President Kamala Harris demonstrated once again why she would be a disastrous president if she were to succeed cognitively impaired Joe Biden. She just expressed her sympathy with the pro-Hamas, anti-Israel, anti-American agitators in an interview published on July 8^th by the left-wing Nation Magazine.

“They are showing exactly what the human emotion should be, as a response to Gaza,” said Vice President Harris, referring to the anti-Semitic demonstrators. “There are things some of the protesters are saying that I absolutely reject, so I don’t mean to wholesale endorse their points. But we have to navigate it. I understand the emotion behind it.”

Exactly what “human emotion” is Ms. Harris praising? Hatred of Jews? Callousness towards the suffering of the civilians whom Hamas slaughtered, raped, tortured, and kidnapped in Israel on October 7? Contempt for the victims’ grieving families? Enthusiasm for the Palestinian Islamist terrorists?

What exactly is the vice president asking us to navigate? The pro-Hamas agitators’ call for intifada and the eradication of the Jewish state of Israel with their repeated chants of “From the river to the sea?” Their hatred of the United States as well as Israel?

Why didn’t Vice President Harris express in the same Nation Magazine interview even a modicum of empathy with all the Jewish students who were afraid to go to class amid the chaos on campus instigated by the pro-Hamas mobs? Because that would not be the politically correct thing to do.

Vice President Harris neglected to indicate which “things some of the protesters are saying” that she “absolutely” rejects. She did not bother to denounce the acts of violence, threats, and intimidation against Jews across the country by “some of the protesters.” And Harris said nothing in her Nation Magazine interview about the hostages still held captive by Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, including five Americans believed to still be alive. To do so would have offended all those prospective voters who ripped down posters containing the names and faces of the hostages or who supported these vandals.

Back in May of this year, Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had similar praise as Ms. Harris for the U.S. campus pro-Hamas “protesters” in a letter he addressed to American university students. “I am writing this letter to the young people whose awakened conscience has moved them to defend the oppressed women and children of Gaza,” Iran’s fanatical Islamist theocrat exclaimed. “Dear university students in the United States of America, this message is an expression of our empathy and solidarity with you. As the page of history is turning, you are standing on the right side of it.”

In words that Vice President Harris could have used about herself, Ayatollah Khamenei added that “I too am among those who empathize with you young people, and value your perseverance.”

The Iranian regime has not just been a cheerleader on the sidelines for the pro-Hamas mobs on U.S. campuses. According to the Director of National Intelligence, Avril Haines, the Iranian regime has been stirring up some of the pro-Hamas agitators’ “emotion” that Kamala Harris thinks so highly of and has even been helping to fund the “protesters.”

“Iranian government actors have sought to opportunistically take advantage of ongoing protests regarding the war in Gaza,” Director Haines said in a statement released on July 9^th. “We have observed actors tied to Iran’s government posing as activists online, seeking to encourage protests, and even providing financial support to protesters.” She added that “Americans who are being targeted by this Iranian campaign may not be aware that they are interacting with or receiving support from a foreign government.”

Evidently, Vice President Harris also is not aware of this targeting or, more likely, simply does not care.

Twelve days after President Biden’s complete meltdown during the debate that 51 million Americans witnessed with their own eyes, Kamala Harris spoke at a campaign event in Las Vegas. She ignored President Biden’s dismal debate performance. Unable to credibly defend the Biden administration’s disastrous record, she lashed out against Donald Trump with outrageous lies. Among them was her false charge that Mr. Trump “openly vowed” to “round up peaceful protestors and throw them out of our country” if he is reelected.

Here is what Mr. Trump actually said about foreign students who participated in anti-Israel, anti-American mob melees: “When I’m president, we will not allow our colleges to be taken over by violent radicals. If you come here from another country and try to bring jihadism or anti-Americanism or antisemitism to campuses, we will immediately deport you. You’ll be out of that school.”

Unlike President Biden and Vice President Harris, Donald Trump knows how to distinguish between free speech protected under the First Amendment versus conduct that crosses over the line into direct threats, harassment, intimidation, and violence. The same is true regarding the difference between illegal immigration, which Biden and border czar Harris have facilitated with their open border and catch-and-release policies, versus legal immigration, which Donald Trump supports. In fact, Mr. Trump has proposed giving green cards to foreign nationals who graduate from a U.S. college after careful vetting to weed out such dangerous troublemakers as radical Islamists, Hamas supporters, and America haters.

Vice President Harris has shown that too often she is willing to give the radical Islamists, Hamas supporters, and haters of America and Israel the benefit of the doubt.
