[Order David Horowitz’s new book, America Betrayed, HERE.]
As the left-wing media has made sure everyone knows by now, and will remind us every day until election day and beyond, Donald Trump is a “convicted felon.” On Friday, a Trump-hating jury in the Manhattan courtroom of a Trump-hating judge declared the former President guilty on 34 counts of being a threat to Democrat one-party hegemony.
House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan wrote in a statement that the verdict
is a travesty of justice. The Manhattan kangaroo court shows what happens when our justice system is weaponized by partisan prosecutors in front of a biased judge with an unfair process, designed to keep President Trump off the campaign trail and avoid bringing attention to President Biden’s failing radical policies.
Nailed it. Jordan added that “Americans see through Democrats’ lawfare tactics and know President Trump will be vindicated on appeal.”
Yes, Americans do see through this sham show trial. Everyone on both sides of the political fence is fully aware that this trial had nothing to do with law and order (which is not a Democrat value); it had everything to do with torpedoing a feared political opponent’s chances in the upcoming election. Republicans know it, Democrats know it, and the Democrats know we know they know it. They just don’t care, just as they didn’t care that everyone knows they stole the 2020 election. Americans can all see that Democrats will do and say anything to seize and maintain power, and they also know the Republican Party will do nothing to stop them.
But in their blind arrogance and lust for a permanent one-party state, the Democrats have egregiously miscalculated this time. They cannot grasp that their blatant, obsessive persecution of the political enemy they fear the most is only empowering Trump’s support and popularity. His campaign has announced that it raised $53 million within 24 hours of the conviction. The Republican National Committee raked in more than $34.8 million from 485,000 donors in the same time frame. The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) said that they had raised $300,000. The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) also said it had its biggest fundraising haul after the verdict, raising $360,000.
Jason Thielman, the executive director of the NRSC, wrote, “Outrage over the sham verdict against Trump has spurred average Americans into action! The NRSC just had its largest online daily fundraising haul of the cycle. The people are energized and determined to take back the White House and Senate!”
And of course, like an Old School heavyweight pugilist, the relentless Trump himself just absorbs these punches and keeps coming, undaunted. “We’re going to fight,” he said after the verdict. “I’m wired in such a way that a lot of people would have gone away a long time ago. They would have gone away after impeachment hoaxes.”
Democrats cluelessly think their fraudulent “convicted felon” label will deter many people from voting for Trump. They have no clue what makes real Americans tick. Here’s a clue for them: Trump attended the UFC 302 match in Newark only a couple of days after his conviction, arriving to what was described as “thunderous applause” from the UFC crowd. Podcaster and UFC commentator Joe Rogan commented that the “round of applause” Trump received was “staggering.”
Democrats think Hollywood and “Pride” parades and college campuses are America, but if you want a more representative slice of this nation, go to a UFC event, where the chanting alternates between “We love Trump” and “F**k Joe Biden.”
Some conservative commentators such as Megyn Kelly, and even some progressive pundits, are warning that the Democrats “will rue the day” that they chose to weaponize the courts to target political opponents, because one day they could be on the receiving end of that very same lawfare. Commentators use phrases like “crossing the Rubicon” and “opening Pandora’s Box” to describe the fearsome change this watershed moment has brought to American politics. Clichés aside, they’re not wrong to point this out.
But I believe that what Americans can expect in the near future is more serious than just the normalization of a politicized judicial system. I believe this country is now on an irrevocable path to civil war – not just the kind of cold civil war we’ve been in since the Obama years (if not before), but a literal hot civil war of the kind the Democrats keep fear-mongering about, all the while ensuring that it will happen – just as they ensured that a January 6 “insurrection” turned violent and then hyped it as the greatest threat to democracy since the War Between the States.
A quick aside for clarification: when Democrats say “democracy,” they mean totalitarian Democrat rule. When they win elections, that’s democracy. When Republicans win, that’s fascism and “a threat to democracy.”
Senator Rand Paul said of the verdict, “What I worry about is something even bigger than Donald Trump. I worry about strife. I worry about war in the streets.”
Congresswomen Maxine Waters is worried about civil war too. The corrupt demagogue went on MSNBC to blather about Trump’s conviction, claiming, “I am worried that he is so divisive and that he is talking about retribution and about revenge and I think that is dangerous. He has even mentioned civil war, saying there will be bloodshed.”
(This is all Democrat projection, of course; Trump didn’t divide this country – he only exposed the division that the Democrats had already brought about.)
Waters went on to fret that “the domestic terrorists” – by which she means American patriots – might be preparing a civil war. “Are they going to be attacking?” Waters panicked.
She’s not called “Mad Max” without reason. Waters is insane, stupid, and ideologically driven – a toxic combination anytime, but especially in political leadership. For once, though, she’s not wrong: the Democrats are more likely than ever now to get what they’ve been pushing for, which is right-wing political violence.
I hope I’m wrong. I don’t want civil war. As a conservative, I don’t want America divided. I want this country to return to a normal level of passionate political disagreement. But Trump’s conviction is the final straw, the confirmation that this country is hopelessly broken politically, and that there can be no bridging of this political divide.
Like matter and anti-matter, progressivism and the kind of liberal democracy conservatives stand for cannot exist in the same space. As the tag line from the movie Highlander says, there can be only one. The left has put all its energies into dividing this country into what they see as despised deplorables on the one hand, and on the other, righteous progressives on the right side of history. They have pushed and pushed, demonized and physically attacked us, weaponized the legal system against us, stolen an election, and with Trump’s conviction of a crime most Americans can’t even identify, they’ve prodded the bear one too many times. They have wanted conservative violence in order to justify criminalizing and imprisoning the MAGA movement, like they have done with the innocent January 6 defendants.
They should have been careful what they wished for, because now I believe they’re going to get it. This is not a threat, just a prediction. Civil war is coming.
Chris Shugart says
Keep a cool head, people. Yes, the Dems would like a civil war, but they don’t want to fire the first shot. That must come from the Right in order for them to declare martial law. Be ready, but be smart.

Yeah, right. The lefties shoot people every day. Another tranny went on a murder rampage yesterday and don’t get me started on the cowards in Chicago.

I agree, everyone is angry, and this is exactly what the leftist elites want, more war, more violence, and then they can justify taking away your freedoms and right to bear arms.
They will recruit thousands of ideologically motivated young policemen who will follow orders from the ruling class and your nation falls never to rise again.
They love division.
Instead go outside and actually talk to your neighbours and build bridges.
Buddy the Cat Meow says
Exactly. The event that was not an insurrection on January 6th, played right into the lefties’ hands and really hurt the cause.
It gave them something other than the problems with the election to focus the attention on.
Look, I used to be a Marxist and if I can get turned around to thinking clearly, so can they.
We don’t need to start a war. We have truth.

If the Progs really want Civil War, they can manufacture any number of events to justify its start. You are correct about the Dems wanting the high road — just as the North did in 1861 by making bombing a fort that was still under construction, unmanned and most importantly not theirs (with 20 northern ships sitting out of site in the Charleston harbor) there justification.
Here’s the thing though. I don’t think they really want the war. Until now they can commit violence against Americans without consequence(like hiding behind mommy’s apron) because Conservatives respect the law. . Once started, they would unleash a terrible rage that no one could stop – no time-out, no mercy, no quarter. I pray it never happens. I have learned through my grandfather and father that those who think they can keep a cool moral head in the face of war are in for a terrifying awakening.

Indonesia 1965 was about muslims massacring Chinese Christians and the west allowed it as they were all conveniently called members of the (IIRC) PKI or Indonesian communist party. some, a distinct minority were communists but 90% were not while the stories told by the few survivors of the nighttime truck journeys to the killing grounds was worthy of both communists and nazis.
BTW The Biafran war was also a muslim massacre of Christians as most of the oil in Nigeria was in Biafran or Christian land and they, the Christians, had the nerve to want a share of the profits.
Currently muslim Fulani goat herdsmen whose distant ancestors turned North Africa’s coastline into desert are murdering, kidnapping their way into central Nigeria, having depopulated many areas of the north and the Nigerian president (a muslim ) and military do nothing as you would expect
.Several years ago with a Christian president western mercenaries chased these scum back into other countries but were sacked before completion by the then new muslim president.

When I was doing research for a book, I came upon the minutes of a Cabinet meeting held on 20th March 1939 – 11 days before Chamberlain gave his guarantee to Poland. At that meeting, Chamberlain said that the problem with giving a guarantee to Poland (or any of the other states east of Germany) was that they could dig their heels in over “minor matters” and before you know it, a general war would be under war – over something that meant absolutely nothing to the citizens of Great Britain. And so it was.
The Germans and the Poles had been going back and forth about two “minor matters” – the Germans wanted to build a road to East Prussia and the Germans living in Danzig wanted a German flag to fly over the city.
I also read the minutes from a Cabinet meeting held after Chamberlain gave his guarantee, in which Halifax acknowledged that the guarantee, which was meant to alter the behaviour of the Germans, had also affected how the Poles were acting – no more negotiated deals, the Poles had indeed dug their heels in, and as Halifax acknowledged, it was because of Britain’s guarantee.
So Chamberlain’s guarantee to Poland did not make war less likely – it helped to make a general war inevitable.
Chamberlain himself knew this would happen, but he went ahead and interfered in Eastern European politics anyway. As Chamberlain said – eleven days before he gave his guarantee – the point was not to defend any of these countries in Eastern Europe, it was to “bring down the bully.”
In other words – to go to war with Germany.
I go over all this in my book, “The Road to Gomorrah.: Britain’s War 1939-43”
Once you start reading through the National Archives, you find there is a lot more to the story than what we had been told, that’s for sure.
And looking around today, I can’t help get this “summer of 39” kind of feeling . . .

Have you actually read Mein Kampf? What you post that the nazis wanted was just the tip of the iceberg for what they really wanted. Does “Lebensraum” or “Slavonic Untermenschen” mean anything to you?
The crucial point about the UK/France promise to come to Poland’s aid if invaded ONLY applied in theory to the Nazi Germany threat but in fact, the USSR invaded Poland two weeks later and both the UK & France should have declared war on the USSR (yes, I can see the pragmatic “sense” of that). Stalin wanted the Nazis to attack Poland so he could “reclaim” the western Ukraine lost to Poland when his personally led attack in the 1920s failed miserably.
As a further note, Stalin wanted the Nazis to attack Poland and then the west so that he could then hit Germany from the east once the western front bogged down into trench warfare. However, the Blitzkrieg fall of France forced him to up his own schedule and he was almost ready to attack (do check his border military placements) when Hitler, well aware of what was going on, struck first. Stalin knew that Germany could never win a 2-front war and could not believe that Germany would attack despite the obvious intelligence pointing this out.
The Left have long whitewashed Stalin’s role in creating WW2 by ignoring his published aims to “communize” all of Europe, by “helping out” and ignoring his every comment about his aims. Hitler’s attack resulted in Stalin only gaining half of Europe. But he was happy with that as he thought that the allies would not be so hard to beat. that is, until the first nuke was exploded. The Berlin blockade of 1948 and the Korean war were test feelers put out to see the allied response.
KD says
@Michelle,
1. Please see comment further down.
2. With all due respect, I am not sure what point you are trying to make by talking about AH’s intention to head east in pursuit of Lebensraum. You appear to be suggesting that AH wanted to head east in search of Lebensraum, therefore Germany could not have been negotiating with Poland over building a road to East Prussia or who should be running Danzig.
3. This appears to be an instance of what is sometimes known as the fallacy of bifurcation (either/or thinking). In fact, both could be correct – and the source documents in the archives indicate that this is the case.
4. Prior to the signing of the non-aggression pact between Germany and Poland in January 1934, AH told Lipski that Poland was an important bulwark against Communism.
5. Germany and Poland were indeed having talks about building a road to East Prussia and having a German flag flying over Danzig. On 28th October 1938, Ribbentrop met with Lipski and said that “it was time to arrive at a general settlement of all possible points of friction between Germany and Poland.”
6. On 5th January 1939, AH, Ribbentrop, Beck and Lipski met at Berchtesgaden. AH told the Poles that “On the part of Germany he could state emphatically that there had not been the slightest change in Germany’s relations with Poland as based on the non-aggression declaration of 1934. [. . .] Germany “was decidedly interested in seeing Poland’s position preserved. Purely from a military point of view, the existence of a strong Polish Army meant a considerable easing of Germany’s position; the divisions which Poland stationed at the Russian frontier saved Germany just so much additional military expenditure . . . ” [italics mine]

There was no scenario in which the Nazis would not have eventually seized control of Poland by one means or another. It was a fundamental goal of the regime.
Kenny D says
Hello Daniel,
Thank you for taking the time to respond to my earlier comments. Your interest in my research is much appreciated.
Perhaps I should tell you what my book is about (the run-up to the war is only part of it.) As you know, Niccolo Machiavelli wrote in The Prince that “a man who wants to profess goodness in all parts of his life will bring about his own ruin among so many who are not good. Therefore, it is necessary for a prince who wants to maintain his position to learn how not to be good, and to use that whenever he needs to.”
In the book, I argue that Winston Churchill was a true wartime leader, who understood that it was necessary to give orders that were “not good” in order to defeat the enemy. Did you know that under Churchill’s leadership, Britain attacked the French fleet (twice – it is not well known that the Royal Navy went back a second time) so that the French ships would not fall into German hands, and that Harry Hopkins told Jock Colville that this was what convinced the Americans that the Brits meant business and were worth backing?
Or that the British government declared war on Finland in December 1941 – just to keep the Soviets happy?
Or that WSC sent the Arctic Convoy PQ16 out to Murmansk, in the expectation that half the boats would be sunk, because Molotov was due to arrive in the UK to sign the Anglo-Soviet Treaty?
Or that Churchill wrote to Stalin and offered to use gas weapons against the Germans, in the full expectation that the Germans would retaliate against the British public? All this, and more, is in the book.
One more thing we all know about (or think we do) is that the British developed a fleet of heavy bombers, and used them to engaged in an area bombing campaign against towns and cities throughout Germany. My book, “The Road to Gomorrah,” describes how Britain started the war using Bomber Command to drop leaflets over Germany, but just three and a half years later, launched Operation Gomorrah, the bombing campaign against Hamburg in July and August 1943. (Hence the title of the book: “The Road to Gomorrah.”)
All this forms part of an argument that supports the conclusion of the book: “There are no good wars.”
Perhaps some of the ideas and arguments in my book could be used to provide a framework with which to defend Israel just now – as the IDF fights an enemy with the same spiritual outlook as the enemy the Brits were facing?
Best wishes,
KD.
Kenny D says
Daniel,
You may also be interested to know that in all my years of reading and research, I did (after the event) come across a writer who had published ideas similar to my own, with regards what might have happened if Chamberlain had not interfered in Eastern European politics in the spring and summer of 1939.
It was Herman Wouk.
The poor Poles were betrayed by the British government in 1939, when they were given false promises by Neville Chamberlain; then again in 1943, when the evidence of the Katyn forest massacre came to light (I found a copy of a damning document in the archives about this); and again at the end of the war.
From my book:
The country whose independence Britain was supposed to have gone to war to protect was, as Churchill said, being “held in strict control by a Soviet-dominated Government” and “denied all free expression of her national will.”24 The attitude of the British government towards the Poles could not have been made clearer when the Polish soldiers who had fought alongside British and Commonwealth forces during the war were banned from participating in the victory parade held in London on 8th June 1946.25

I do hope you take the time to read my book (it is quite short – it’s more a series of connected essays, all supporting the conclusion of the book: “There are no good wars.”)
With some knowledge of the Machiavellian principles laid out in The Prince, and knowing some of the things that the Brits had to do (out of necessity) during the second world war in order to see the enemy defeated, it become impossible to criticize Israel or the IDF just now, as they fight an enemy with the same spiritual outlook at the one faced by the Allies in world war two.
So perhaps some of the ideas and arguments in my book could be used to frame a philosophical / historical / factual defence of Israel just now, as they fight this most recent war in Gaza, following the casus belli of October 7th?
KD says
To the moderators: I appear to have forgotten to close the italics tag after “The Prince” in the previous comment. Apologies for that. Would it be possible for you to correct that by inserting the ?? Thank you ever so much.
Kenny says
If you are aware of any sources showing that it was “a fundamental goal” of the National Socialists to “seize control of Poland by one means or another” before March 31st 1939, then I would be quite interested in knowing about that. Perhaps these sources would also help to clarify exactly what is meant by “seize control” and “by one means or another.”
The argument in the book is that Chamberlain’s false, worthless promise to the Poles only made it more likely – not less – that Germany would decide to “seize control of Poland” and that they would use one particular means to do it: military force.
If Chamberlain hadn’t done that – or if as Lloyd George and Archibald Sinclair told him, he had formed an alliance with the Soviets beforehand, instead of trying to do so afterwards, then who knows what would have happened.
But Chamberlain did what he did, and as Churchill himself said when he was writing the first volume of his history of the war years later: “No one who understood the situation could doubt that it meant in all human probability a major war, in which we should be involved” and that this war “must surely lead to the slaughter of tens of millions of people.”
Are we in the same position today? Is the incompetent blundering, the interfering in other country’s affairs, of these crazy politicians, going to lead us all down the same path?
Sjam says
“Commonwealth forces during the war were banned from participating in the victory parade held in London on 8th June 1946.”
The Poles were not banned from the victory parade as such. They were not granted permission to participate under their own “Polish banner” but were to march within British Army formations becuaesthey were under British Forces command. The London Poles under Anders therefore refused to participate. The Polish Air Force in Britain was independent under agreement with the British government unlike the Polish land forces. The Polish Airforce was invited to attend under Polish
colours in their own right. But they refused because the Polish land forces refused. The “Lublin” Polish communist government were invit3d to participate but also refused because of the London Poles still being in place and not deported back to Poland. The Victory Parade programme at the National Archives which I saw does have an entry for a Polish Band participation but what that participation was to be is unclear.. Anyway it wasn’t until 70th anniversary of the start of ww2 that Polish excombatants were officially part of the victory parade commemoration and a Polish Forces Memorial established in the UK. National Arboretum. I am proud to have been part of that initiative.

You may be interested in knowing that as part of the research for my book, I managed to track down a letter from Owen O’Malley to Anthony Eden, which talks at length about the Katyn forest massacre, and the British government’s role in covering it up. I quote from this document at some length in my book.
Also from the book:
The actions of the German forces in western Poland were widely reported in the British press. On 30th November, General Sikorski, the head of the Polish government in exile, was quoted in the Nottingham Journal as saying:
The unrestrained violence with which the Germans made war on Poland in September aroused the indignation of the civilised world. Never had anyone acted with such savagery towards a disarmed people against whom guns, machine guns, incendiary bombs and bombs were used. One would have thought that on the day when the Germans imposed their yoke on Poland they would be glutted with blood and cruelty. Far from it. From every part of occupied Poland where the German authorities speak so freely of honour and justice and where the Gestapo and the storm troopers reign, reports reach us which fill us with horror. Never a day passes, whether in Warsaw, Gdynia, Bydgoszcz, Poznan, Katowice or Cracow, that individual or mass executions do not take place, that people are not expelled from their homes and their property pillaged or confiscated, and that individuals are not brutalised so that the Germans well merit the name of ‘butchers’ which has been given them. Not within memory, never in the worst moment of the most horrible wars have such atrocities been committed as are occurring daily in Poland.”35
The records in the National Archives for 16th November 1939 show that Sikorski told Halifax that some people were being forced to evacuate their homes at 24 hours’ notice so that incoming Germans could take over their properties, some were being forced to take refuge in marshes and forests and many of the leading Poles had simply been shot.36
The British government may have been aware of what was happening in the occupied territory, but they did nothing to help the Polish people.

Instead of creating straw men that exist only in your own mind – why don’t you actually read the book?
By the way, may I draw your attention to the preface to the Documents on German Foreign Policy, which is one of the sources I used when writing my book (as well as the British National Archives, the American FRUS Archives, the FDR Presidential Library and Museum, diaries and books written by the parties involved at the time, and of course the usual books about the period written by Bullock, Shirer, Toland and so on . . .)
In June 1946 the British Foreign Office and the United States Department of State agreed to publish jointly documents from captured archives of the German Foreign Ministry and the Reich Chancellery. Although the captured archives go back to the year 1867, it was decided to limit the present publication to papers relating to the years after 1918, since the object of the publication was “to establish the record of German foreign policy preceding and during World War II.”
The editorial work was to be performed “on the basis of the highest scholarly objectivity.” The editors were to have complete independence in the selection and editing of the documents. Publication was to begin and be concluded as soon as possible. Each government was “free to publish separately any portion of the documents.” In April 1947 the French Government, having requested the right to participate in the project, accepted the terms of this agreement.
The editors wish to stat that they have been not only permitted, but enjoined, to make their selections exclusively “on the basis of the highest scholarly objectivity.” In the selection of documents for publication, and in the editing of the documents, the editors have had complete freedom. No effort has been made at any time by any of the participating Governments to influence their work.

May I also draw your attention to the fact that the DGFP documents were cited extensively by Professors Jeremy Noakes and Geoffrey Pridham in their excellent series of books on the phenomenon of Nazism.

Kenny D says
“So your opinion is all that matters? A road to East Prussia was wanted by AH for the armoured attack from there. Supply? anyone?
As for Danzig the confrontation between nazis and Poles was slowly increasing”
Ok, there are three things here.
1. “So your opinion is all that matters?” – An obvious straw man. No need to say anything else.
2. The Germans didn’t need a road to East Prussia in order to carry out an armoured attack from there, as evinced by the fact that they did so in September 1939 without one.
3. Regarding Danzig. Did you know that
the British government had made it known that they would have no objections if a German flag ended up flying over Danzig. Edward Wood,13 who had become Viscount Halifax after his father died in January 1934,14 travelled to Berchtesgaden to meet with Hitler on 19th November 1937.15 Halifax said later that “he had encountered friendliness and a desire for good relations.”16
Halifax explained the British position to the Nazis: “On the English side it was not necessarily thought that the status quo must be maintained under all circumstances. It was recognised that one might have to contemplate an adjustment to new conditions, a correction of former mistakes and the recognition of changed circumstances when such need arose.” Regarding any “possible alterations in the European order which might be destined to come about with the passage of time,” Halifax specifically mentioned Danzig, Austria and Czechoslovakia.
[. . .]
In February 1938, Hitler had also been visited by Sir Neville Henderson, the British Ambassador in Berlin, who told him that the British government was not unsympathetic towards Germany’s desire to alter the political landscape in Eastern Europe.18
The military historian Basil Liddell Hart has pointed out that these visits from prominent British figures could only have given Hitler the impression that there would be no objections from the British government if he kept on trying to get a road to East Prussia built, or if he kept pressing the Poles on the issue of Danzig.19

Andrew Roberts, The Holy Fox: The LIfe of Lord Halifax, Noakes and Pridham, Nazism, TNA CAB 23/90A/5, the DGFP (which is also quoted by Noakes and Pridham), and Basil Liddell Hart’s History of the Second World War.
Do you have a problem with any of these sources, I wonder?
(Note that this alone refutes your ridiculous assertion that I only used one source when writing an entire book. Just thought I’d make that point.)

“Your determined belief in Nazi honesty undermines all that you post, and you show an absolute inability to truly understand the totalitarian way of war. I have the horrors thinking about you posting about islam and communism while believing what both. promise in negotiations.”
Again, a few things to unpack here.
1. Your first assertion is again, an obvious straw man. No need to say anything more about that other than – read the book!
2. I believe I have a decent understanding of how all the belligerent parties fought during the second world war. After all, that’s what the whole book is about – once again, I suggest you actually read the book (instead of making things up based on nothing but your own prejudices.)
3. If I could find it in myself to take you seriously, I would be offended by your last unfounded assertion. All I will say though, is that you are letting your imagination run away with you, and making things up based on nothing but your own prejudices.

Something from my book that you might find interesting:
The National Socialist movement in Germany had always been steeped in darkness. When Hitler was on trial in February 1924, Lieutenant-General Otto von Lossow, the former chief of the Reichswehr in Bavaria, said that Hitler’s followers considered him the German messiah, and Hitler himself spoke openly in court about his followers walking in the streets carrying the Hakenkreuz (crooked cross.)1 This was symbolised as a black swastika on a white disc, with a red background.2 At party rallies, Hitler would use what became known as the Blutfahne (bloody banner), which was stained with the blood of some of Hitler’s followers who had been killed during the failed putsch of November 1923, to anoint the banners of his followers. All carried the image of the crooked cross. In such a wicked environment, it is not surprising that willing servants like Joachim von Ribbentrop would rise to prominence.

May I make one final point. The initial subject of this thread was the likelihood of a war happening, because of the incompetent blundering of politicians today. And the point I made was that I have an uneasy, “summer of ’39” kind of feeling about events . . . because . . .
On 31st March, Hitler had been on his way to Wilhelmshaven to attend the launch of the Tirpitz, which was Germany’s second largest battleship. When he heard about the British guarantee, he flew into a rage,21 and when he gave a speech at the launching ceremony the following day, he warned that Germany would not stand by and allow Poland to become a satellite state of the British.22 On 3rd April, as Chamberlain’s guarantee was being debated in the House of Commons, Hitler issued a directive to the German armed forces tasking them to prepare for an invasion of Poland, codenamed “Case White,” that would begin no later than 1st September 1939.23 When Chamberlain issued his guarantee, his intention may have been to prevent the Germans from advancing into Eastern Europe, but his actions only made that more likely to happen. The Polish leaders were now less inclined to negotiate a solution to the Danzig problem, and Hitler was more likely to use military means to force the issue.24
Duthie, Kenneth. The Road to Gomorrah: Britain’s War 1939-1943 (pp. 13-14). Kenneth Duthie. Kindle Edition.
Timeline it. Before Chamberlain gave his worthless guarantee to Poland on 31st March 1939, negotiations between Germany and Poland had been ongoing. (and the British government had been all for this.)
Immediately after Chamberlain performed a volte-face and gave the Poles a guarantee on 31st March, AH told his generals to draw up plans to invade Poland.
It’s worth noting here that Heydrich started forming up the Einsatzgruppen in May 1939. (And the Einsatzgruppen were active in Poland from the get-go.- this was not something that only occurred in Russian territory post-Barbarossa. (I go over all this in my book.)
My original point was that Chamberlain’s blundering only made the situation worse, and made a general war more likely, not less. Read the book, and you’ll see what I mean.
Kenny says
As to what you said about the Germans meaning what they said when they were meeting with the Poles about the fate of Danzig, and building a road to connect East Prussia with the rest of Germany – before March 31st 1939.
Read what I have actually said.
Draw up a timeline.
Notice anything?
You’ve just conceded that what I am saying is correct.
Read the book – you’ll see!

Kenny You have drowned this page, and I cannot reply to any of your many comments (thank God!). I apologize if I upset you as IMO I was a little rude, but I still stick with what I posted, and your “straw man” point applies equally as much to your as it does to me.
Frankly I no longer trust most “reliable sources” on WW2 now as with >95% of Historians being Leftist, let alone the bureaucrats responsible for the documents, so many have been “edited or censored” and that includes official allied documents.
I hope that your book does well, but my current interests now lie far away from WW2 and life is far too short.

One of the people who sent in a review of the book said that “I learned a lot – I had no idea about much of what had been written, and it’s changed my views of the war, and of Britain’s role in it.” Another reviewer said, “I thought that I knew a great deal about this period of the war, but I was wrong, and I am grateful to the author for producing such an accomplished book.”
As I noted elsewhere on this thread, I believe that the book could be used as a starting point in a defence of Israel’s conduct during the war with Hamas. Anyone who is familiar with Machiavelli’s work, who knows about some of the decisions that Churchill (and Roosevelt) made during the second world war, will find all the hand-wringing and wailing about what’s happening in Gaza to be utterly pathetic. These snowflakes call it “virtue-signalling” – well, they need to be educated about what “virtue” really is!
Machiavelli said that a political leader must have “virtue” and that doing what was “not good” in order to “maintain his state” was in fact a sign that they had “virtue”!
This is the exact opposite of what the snowflakes believe!
Are you sure I can’t persuade you to read the book? I really think you could get something from it. I’m not chasing after sales here. Obviously, given my background, I didn’t write the book for the big royalty cheques (LOL) – to be honest with you, when I was in the hospital I promised myself that if I got out, I would get the book written, and get it out there as a corrective to some of the lies we are all expected to believe in, about war, about life, and about ourselves. With this war going on in Gaza right now, following the casus belli on October 7th last year, the book could also be used to help arm ourselves, as we strive to “have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.” (Ephesians 5:11 NKJV)
Kenny says
Good afternoon Michelle,
Thank you for your response. I hope you can see where I’m coming from now. You will have read the paragraph from my book about the anti-Christ nature of the National Socialist regime. (That was all I thought I could get away with in a book in the “military history” genre.)
I also go over the establishment of the Einsatzgruppen in May of 1939, and their operations in Poland during what the British think of as the “phoney war” – the use of the Sonderfandungsbuch to identify potential troublemakers, and so forth. I give a specific example of a district in Bydgoszcz being “pacified” by Einsatzgruppe IV just a week after the invasion began, and I mention incidents where the Wehrmacht also acted in a most brutal fashion towards the Poles. (In doing so, I rely on work done in this area by Martin Gilbert, Richard Evans and Alexander Rossino.)
Your point about the problems one can have reading about history is well taken. Many’s the time I have been reading a “mainstream” history book, and I have found myself wondering why the authors aren’t telling people what really went on, or why they are presenting such poor arguments in an effort to explain what happened.
I can personally attest to one instance where the official records in the American archives had been doctored to remove a certain passage. When I came upon the scanned version of the original document elsewhere in another archive – there was the missing paragraph! (To give one example of what can happen.)
This sort of thing is part of the reason why I decided to write my own book. I had been reading through all of the aforementioned archives (as well as the records of the Nuremberg trials) and decided to write a book and say some things that had never been said, and use some sources that had never been used, in any of the history books that I had read. So I had to market it as a military history book – but I think that it’s a slightly unusual piece of work, written not by a professional “historian” but by a retired engineer with a philosophy degree, who only decided to put pen to paper after being diagnosed with the big C in his old age! So I’m coming at it from a different angle than your everyday, professional “historian.”

If I can’t persuade you to read my book, “The Road to Gomorrah,”
then perhaps you would be interested in something else? I recently downloaded a Kindle book that provides the reader with several ways to defend themselves against the woke mind virus.
I take the view nowadays that we are all in the same boat, and we need to make each other aware of any ways we find that we can use to defend ourselves against the enemies of humanity.
So I recommend this other book, to anyone reading this.
It talks about this continual use of “race” to attack people and to put everyone into groups, which are then controlled by the powers-that-be, it talks about multiculturalism, about unconscious bias (very interesting) and the overuse of ineffective medications to drug people up after they are diagnosed with made-up illnesses.
Oh and there’s a chapter about white Europeans being held as slaves by Mohammedans on the Barbary coast in North Africa – a trade that went on for hundreds of years. That’s interesting too.
It also says that Christians who accept this concept of “white guilt” are essentially saying that Jesus only died for some of their sins, bu the did not die for all of their sins, and that He needs to be put back up on the cross so He can be crucified again!
Lots of interesting stuff in this one. So if the second world war is not your thing, give that one a try – I’ve just finished it & I can recommend it.
Its called “Living In A Salt Land” by Andrew Sittason, & it’s on Amazon.
Well worth a read, I’d say.

“ As a further note, Stalin wanted the Nazis to attack Poland ”
You are correct. The Hitler Stalin pact enabled the Nazis to do just that. Chamberlain wrote to his sister saying that he was aware that the Soviets were agitating to drag Britain into a war with Germany to secure the destruction of both Germany and Great Britain in a war the would effectively both so that the Red Army could carry the revolution across Europe. Something the “Miracle of the Vistula “put paid to in 1920.

I fear the author is correct. Once again, the Democratic Party has unilaterally opted out of the social compact that has sustained us. It has clearly demonstrated that it is willing to do ANYTHING to obtain and maintain power. A democratic republic cannot exist when one of its two major parties, especially when backed by tech billionaires, the media, and academia down to kindergarten, believes it has a Devine right to rule the rest. Unless the Democrats cease the mono-maniacal will to power obsession that they are in the grip of (which I don’t see happening) the only solution in such a circumstance is either separation or civil war.

If Nazis were fascist, then communists were more so as they did it before and after the Nazis. The difference was that we all “got to see” the nazis dirty laundry but even well post USSR we still don’t know the number murdered by the soviets as they still find mass graves. Stalin subsidized the Nazis in the 1920s and when the crucial vote came in 1933 forced the German communists to vote for Hitler. Funny that! He knew Hitler would start WW2 and that was exactly what he wanted.

when the judiciary has become weaponized it is the house/senate and executive branch who is responsible for the check and balance of power. and visa versa. it appears the 3 branches of government have colluded to protect each other from the checks and balance. similarly the executive branch has allowed a foreign invasion with but whimper from the other branches. biden has outright negated the highest court ruling to the unconstitutional student loan forgiveness, working around the judicial branch of government. the 3 branches of government are a union of power bent on the protection of each other. this form of government will destroy the civility of america. after the trump communist court ruling to imprison the presidential election opposition, the house should have immediately called for shuttering of the judicial system. this is a weaponized government to further remove the voice of the people. wonder if we get a check on the balance of power if obama went to jail? the weaponized authority will continue for as long as we recognize this authority. recognition is the first step to repentance and politics. no need for any action but self preservation. the first step is “no thank you, i will not recognize your authority”.
if the current executive branch “biden” does not recognize the authority of the highest court in the land “judicial branch”, why should we? follow the example. in a nationally civil country this is a legally arguable point.

He was right about the evidence, but wrong that we had `em. And Mike Lindell even thinking Trump would be back in the White House by August 2021.

At a certain point however, this has to be turned around or the alternative is much worse than now.
The flaw in the past optimistic statements you mentioned was that it relied on some old fashioned ideas. First, the idea that a “reveal” would sway media and make it back down. No reveal of any bad deed, however horrific, will ever do that. And relatedly, the idea that those doing bad things have shame or fear. They have no shame and while they may fear, they do not fear us as they’re willing to kill.
The points I have outlined are why some say a war, civil, or rather revolutionary, is a logical outcome.

And the lawfare lawyers. Can’t forget them: mainly Mark Elias, Norm Eisen, Andrew Weissman and the guys who worked for them.
We are now a full throated banana republic. Expect the same verdicts in D.C. when the Chutkin trial is over. The j6 convictions are obviously fixed because it’s D.C. The city is beyond pro deep state.
Where was the voir dire process when picking the Alvin Bragg jurors? Are they really telling me they couldn’t find a pro Trump juror? Commie Judge Merchan obviously went juror shopping. He is completely corrupted along with his daughter. And why didn’t Trump’s lawyers complain about the jury selection? I never heard a word about the process.

Hi Michelle,
Thank you for taking an interest in my earlier comment and by extension, my book. I hope you do not mind if I tell you that the Kindle version of the book is currently free, so you may download it from Amazon free of charge just now. The title of the book is “The Road to Gomorrah: Britain’s War 1939-43”.
As you probably know, Neville Chamberlain gave a verbal guarantee to Poland on 31st March 1939. Chamberlain was told by several senior MPs that he should not have done so without first having secured an alliance with the Soviet Union.
Chamberlain did try to form an alliance with the Soviets, but the negotiations in the summer of 1939 came to naught. The British were in a bidding war along with the Germans – each were seeking the favour of the Soviets – and the Germans could offer the Soviets what the British could not – half of Eastern Europe. Consequently, the Soviets sent the Brits home, and the Nazi-Soviet Treaty was signed.
The day after that – after it had became clear that the British could do nothing to help Poland if they were ever invaded – Chamberlain decided to issue the written, hard copy of his guarantee to Poland.
As you say, this agreement had a secret protocol that limited any assistance to Poland. Only if Germany invaded were they willing to help. (So they said!) Note that, by limiting the guarantee to assisting Poland in the event of a German invasion only, the British were not obliged to do anything when the Soviets rolled into Poland on 17th September – and they didn’t.
The British had tried to set up a situation where it was Britain and the Soviets against Germany – not Britain against Germany and the Soviet Union. And they had failed. It was only after the Germans launched Operation Barbarossa in June 1941 that Winston Churchill, took the opportunity to align the United Kingdom with the Soviet Union.
It’s not possible to respond properly to your earlier comment in this limited format. However, the material in the book covers this period in history, and I believe you would find it interesting. So I ask that you check the book out for yourself.
Best wishes,
KD

There is one frequent statement I would like to correct. It is not “ politicized” to use a fair justice system to prosecute REAL crimes. There is zero equivalence between the hoaxes, smears and law fare used against Trump and what would be legitimate charges against vote fraud, destroying evidence, lying, conspiracies, defamation and the law fare itself
I am disappointed when intelligent writers suggest that if Trump or other non-left administrations prosecuted real crimes, it’s simply tit for tat. It is not! Its justice.
They perpetuate a double standard of unequal justice and diminish the seriousness of the current bad behavior in making this false equivalence.

@Michelle,
In light of the fact that Germany and Poland were engaged in talks about building a road to East Prussia and flying a German flag over Danzig . . .
At a Cabinet meeting held on 19th April 1939, it was acknowledged that when Chamberlain performed a volte-face and issued a guarantee to Poland, this had made a negotiated settlement to these issues less likely:
If the Polish Government were prepared to treat with Germany for a settlement of the Danzig question, it might be well if they could cut the ground from under the feet of the German Government by showing their disposition to negotiate. . . . At a later stage in the Meeting, the Foreign Secretary reported that he had now received a telegram from Berlin in regard to relations between Germany and Poland. In effect, the upshot of the report was that Herr Hitler was now dealing with these negotiations himself, but that not much progress was being made. This was attributed to the fact that the Poles were adopting a more intractable attitude since they had obtained our guarantee.

This was my original point. Chamberlain’s guarantee made the Poles dig their heels in, and made a general war more (not less) likely. That this was likely to happen was recognised by Chamberlain himself on 20th March 1939, eleven days before he gave his (worthless) guarantee.
These historical facts are all recorded in the National Archives.

“To indifferently watch the ruin of a close one by one who has lost his senses and become a bearer of evil is nothing other than the breaking of the commandment of love for one’s neighbor. Every type of evil should be immediately thwarted with the most decisive measures, even including the sacrifice of oneself in an unequal struggle.
“The following words express particularly this idea: Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. These are words which our Church has long applies to those Christ-loving soldiers who heroically died for the salvation of their neighbors.”

The founders established a Constitutional Republic with a limited central government directly accountable to the peoples representatives instead of a “democracy,” because they clearly understood from historical absolutes that eventually all democracies transition into tyrannical totalitarian democratic states.
Primarily because democracies tend corrupt and undermine their social contracts by allowing the most despotic, unscrupulous individuals (pathological tyrants) and groups to hold power over the majority. Neural Linguistically Programmed and psychologically controlled I-Phone automatons and debased slaves ready and willing to do for their quasi “Lord of the Flies” masses what Stonehenge did for rocks.

Check my response and correction. Yes, the founders established a limited Federal Government with sovereign states, but the Republican Party changed that during the years 1860 to 1868, asserting in the 1867 Reconstruction Act (enacted by Republicans over a Republican Presidential ) veto that the Central Government was sovereign over states. That was, in fact, the core operating policy of Republicans that drove the southern states to withdraw and establish a Confederacy with a nearly identical but improved Constitution.

Mark Tapson’s wish for a Union of 50 states that follow the Constitution is simply delusional. The National Republican Party saw to that shortly after its formation (1855) with the inauguration of Abraham Lincoln (1860). Lincoln’s advisors pushed a Mercantilism political and economic policy that required a central national government sovereign over states. It took a Republican war against the Confederacy, formed because of Federal abuses, for Republicans to establish and solidify a central national government sovereign over states. When Democrats put a president in office in 1886 they followed the economic and political model the Republicans had established, and that has been the model of government ever since, always with a wink and a nod to the Constitution. Only with severe crimes against the Constitution and law by Democrats have Republicans gotten interested in state sovereignty today.
This nation’s people have come together three notable times to fight wars—most notably WWII, the Korean Conflict, and the Cold War with Russia—but a division has always existed and that will never change. The simplest example is “flyover country,” or southern, western, and rural America compared to people of the West and Northeast Coasts. The cultural and values differences between these two groups of citizens will never be healed. Speaking as a native westerner and southerner I dislike those other people and don’t care to be around them. It would suit me fine if they had a tyrannical government that suited them and I had the one the framers designed.
To think these two different types of people can come together in a political system that has been mostly mythological since at least 1840 is purely delusional. This nation is characterized by two chief political parties whose representatives do not represent their districts or states but only the enrichment of themselves and the empowering of their party.

If the dims are dumb enough to start an armed civil war,….they will lose. The true Americans, Republicans have more guns and know how to use them and are more determined to not put with anymore treasonous BS from the dumb DimOHKraps.
