Did the shots fired at President Trump and rally attendees by Thomas Matthew Crooks come out of nowhere? No.
We now know that
- Crooks had been spotted on the scene, behaving suspiciously and even on the roof
- The 20-year-old was the subject of law enforcement alerts including those triggered by a call from his parents.
- He had been previously accused of threatening a school shooting.
- He was searching for information about the rally and event dates
So it’s not as if there wasn’t plenty of material to work with and if he had indeed been suspected of threatening a school shooting, he should have been on the radar for federal authorities before a presidential visit.
Federal law enforcement failed to do its job from beginning to end. The Secret Service has offered vapid excuses. Cabinet members are making empty promises about an independent investigation. But the bottom line is that the same failed system cannot and should not be trusted to investigate itself.
Congress should move quickly to secure all documents, especially those involving all communications by the advance team and all teams on the ground at Butler. It’s clear by now that Crooks had been spotted and yet no decision was taken to intervene. As we’ve seen at Uvalde, law enforcement incompetence and inaction, however surreal, can be real, but it’s not at all strange for people to wonder if a handpicked Biden leadership chose to allow weak points because it either did not care or was hoping something would happen.
An artificial intelligence system could detect most such cases. Israel seems to have some good AI systems they are using in Gaza.

* SS sniper locking eyes with Crooks through Crooks’ range finder and the SS sniper’s scope BEFORE first volleys from Crooks;
* SS director using safetyism to justify failure to put snipers on Crooks’ gently sloped roof;
* Police or SS climbing roof before first shots and ducking after Crooks pointed weapon at him, and no tactical response afterwards;
And, the worst of all:

Your LAST point is the KEY! SOMEONE gave the order to “stand down”! They KNEW no one was SUPPOSED to be on that building – due to the “dangerous slope”!! What is my take. She seems to be an expert. What if she is wrong? Well, she said there is variability there might not be a big spray pattern.. Also the blood could be washed out due to the distance and the roof being bright white or some other artifact of how the photos were taken.

Another troubling revelation was that the roof where the shooter positioned himself – a roof with a clear view of the stage only 150 yards away – was just OUTSIDE of the secured area. And nobody has explained why photographs show that there was a 10′-12′ aluminum ladder leaning against the building or where it came from and who put it there. (Authorities have said it was NOT the ladder that Crooks purchased earlier if the day, which they say was only 5′ long.)
But you’re forgetting, the roof of that building was too sloped to have had a security team on it even though it provided a clear line of sight to the stage.

What really needs to happen out of events like these is to appoint a Federal Special Prosecutor to investigate the causes for this crime, determine who failed to stop this crime, and Federally charge them with criminal neglect. No one was held accountable for 9/11 when thousands died. It is time to begin putting some accountability and responsibility for one’s actions and inaction back into Federal employment.

Where I live, in the suburbs/exurbs of a major city, school shooting/bomb threats are not all that rare during the school year.
This atrocity seems to be more than simple incompetence. I doubt that we will ever learn the full story.
