Me On Blogging

December 6th, 2009

I have been blogging for years. I’ve gone from shitty little ranting diary on every blogging platform you can think of (yea I was all over the place) to what I do and have today. And I’ve grown as a blogger. I’ve figured out what works and what doesn’t. I’ve noticed what you, as the reader likes more and what you could care less about. And you know what? I’ve ignored it all and said, “Fuck it. I’ll write about everything and anything.”

Here’s the thing. Yes, I am a “mommy blogger”. Yes, this is supposed to be a blog about my life as a parent and my every day adventures as a mom with her kid. But it’s not. Supposed to be! But not. Why is that, you wonder? Well, because I don’t get out much. We don’t work right in public. My son doesn’t listen to me and my husband drives me insane when we go out. And that causes me to have nothing to really write about. Believe me, I’d love to be an awesome controversial writer like some people I know, but it hasn’t worked out for me. So what this blog has become is more of a me thing. About what I think of things, the games I play (WoW, iRO, Cafeworld, etc.), thoughts on the latest products (reviews) for mom and baby, and whatever else you find here. And it works for me. Might not work for you and it might be the reason why a lot of my readers went POOF but hey, their loss.

I know a lot of people put their blogs into a niche, but… why. Yea, it’ll make you more money and you have a target audience, but think of all the readers you’re missing out on. The ones who may not find your blog but might wanna read what you have to say and are looking for what you have. I say we break the chain. No more limiting your blogs. Mix it up!! See what happens. BE DIFFERENT!! xD

I’ll end my rant now. My rebellion is over. Back to the uniform!

You Know You're A Parent When…

I took my son to school the other day like I always do and when I got home, I laid down to watch television because I still wasn’t awake yet and I wanted a nap if I could get one in. So, I guess I did fall asleep because I had left the television on ... read more »

You Know You’re A Mother When

You wake up on Saturday morning to get your kids ready for school. Honest to blog, I woke up at 8am to get my son ready for school. I fed him, got his clothes and his bag together, sat him down to play Mario Cart for a while, and waited for 12:00pm to roll around. ... read more »
