Boys Will Be Boys…

October 22nd, 2009

There have been lots of moments in my life as a parent where my son has done or said something a little embarrassing. And I think he is starting to think of new things and ways of doing it every day. For example…

It’s really hard to get changed or dressed around my house with a five year old running here, there and everywhere. Because if he barges into the bedroom, he’ll scream “Boobies!” for a week… in front of everyone! Including my in-laws. *dies* I know you just have to ignore it and such, but ignoring doesn’t work on this kid. He’ll keep going until you tell him to shut his mouth and even then, there’s a chance it won’t stop. He repeats everything

The other day, for example, when we were at the store, my husband pointed out and outfit that he thought I’d look good in. I protested and said that my fat ass would never fit in it (cause it was in the juniors section). So my son starts dancing and singing, “fat ass! fat ass!”, just as a heavy woman walks past us. Oh the dirty looks I got. *fallsovertwitchtwitch*

Gotta love boys though, right? My life will never be dull or boring again.

Wishing Kristin at We Are That Family a happy blogging anniversary. She’s having a carnival and giveaway for the occasion. Be sure to stop by and check it out!

Happy Birthday to Me

October 16th, 2009

My birthday was this past Monday (Oct. 12). I am now officially an old lady of twenty-seven. :lolol: I had a pretty good day, other then the morning where my husband promised to let me sleep late then woke me up at 8:00 am. I wasn’t very happy (see post below). And then there was breakfast. We were going to go to the local crepe shop, but their dining area was still closed, so we ended up going to Barnes & Noble for coffee and a pretzel. It was still nice and I enjoyed sitting down over a magazine with my husband and just talking. It’s not something we do often (the talking I mean) and we should probably do it more. And the going out too. Hehe.

We then walked around the learning store across the parking lot until about 10:30 am, then headed to the theatre to see Zombieland. It was a good movie. Not a great movie, but there was plenty of comedy and it was watchable. I wasn’t bored out of my mind, like I was with LotR: Return of the King, and that’s kinda good. I wouldn’t buy it though. I didn’t like it that much.

That was my day, but that wasn’t it. :hehe: I got a few new Pinky:St dolls for my birthday too. One of them is still in the mail, and the other one came today.

The newest member of our Pinky family has arrived. The girls couldn't wait to meet her and insisted I rip her out of the package before they did it themselves.

Isn’t she the most adorable thing?! If you look at her out of the package, her face looks like she’s holding her breath till she turns blue. I’m calling her my “Pinky w/’tude!” LoL

All in all, I had a pretty good birthday. :woo: I’ve spent the rest of the week redoing my website, and I’ve lost a lot of subscribers because of it. Oh well though. They’ll miss out on all the awesome posts that are coming. So really, it’s their loss.

The Greatest Band of All

October 7th, 2009

Being one that loves foreign music, I have to hold on band above all the bands that I love. That band would be none other than the pulse pounding Rammstein. This is not a review, I’m just expressing my love for a band.

rammstein

The band was formed by guitarist Richard Kruspe in 1994. They began recording their first album, Herzeleid, in March ‘95 and later released it in September of that same year. Honestly though, I have that CD and it isn’t that great. I think maybe two songs out of the entire album hold my interest. Their other CD’s, Sehnsucht, Rosenrot, Mutter and Reise, Reise are pretty damn good. They may have more, but those are the only ones I have or have heard of. And the fact that their lead singer, Till Lindemann is hawt doesn’t hurt my love for them! ;)

Anyway, you can probably tell I’m into the heavy stuff. Not that screaming shit though. That gets real old real quick. This stuff is just a great beat to dance and rock to. I think my husband likes them more then I do because when I told him I found a new CD that we didn’t have yet, he sounded pretty excited about it. I’d love to see them in concert, but doing that would require me to fly half way around the world, and I’m not big on flying so that will never happen. It sucks because I’ve heard they’ll never play in the U.S. and I have no idea why. It makes me a sad panda.

I think I have a new most loved song by them. I’ll always love Du Hast no matter what, but I think the song Te Quiero Puta! is a pretty rawkin’ song. Yes I know what it means (don’t pee yourself), but I just love how they mix the mariachi-ness with the metal. It sounds awesome. It just shows how creative and original they are. The videos they make for their songs pretty much prove that as well. The never fail to amaze (in a good way). Hehe.

Yep, they’ll definitely be my favorite band until they either break up, die, or sound like they’re starting to suck, which I hope never happens. I would definitely recommend checking them out. And don’t worry that all their music is in German. That’s what makes it so good! ;)
