Law and Order: Dead Line
Summary

When a woman’s body is found at the bottom of a hotel air shaft in Times Square, it looks like a routine suicide. Enter Detectives. Lennie Briscoe and Ed Green. Something about the woman seems out of place in the tourist trap. Her clothing suggests wealth. No socialite would be caught dead in a place like this. The trail leads to an about-to-be published tell-all novel destined to be a best-seller. Now Briscoe and Green have to find out what’s in it that’s worth murder!

I just finished reading this book. I have to say that I was surprised at how well it was written. Most books that spin off shows or movies aren’t really that great. They don’t capture that certain something that the show/movie has. But as you read, you could actually imagine yourself in the court room watching everything. It was so well detailed, and it explained everything they were talking about. I guess you would have to be a real fan of the show(s) or be a reader to know what I’m talking about. But in reading this, I found that they took too long to get to the point of the case. Not enough evidence was found, they didn’t have a motive, they gave the run around to much. But it all came together toward the end. It was a very educational trial. It explained a lot how the whole publishing business works. (read it to know what I am talkin about). The characters were very well captured. They were exactly the way they are in the show. Personalities and all. I wonder tho, whether the author looked into what the plans were for their individual personalities. Because you learn a lot of new stuff about Jack and Serena. I don’t know. But it was a great read. And I finished it in a week. Have NEVER done that before. It usually takes me forever. That’s how good it was.
