For seven years the Democrats have tried to establish a one-party state, organizing criminal conspiracies run by the FBI, concocting bogus dossiers with the help of Russian agents, paid for by Hillary Clinton to smear and discredit her opponent. But in its zeal not to defeat but to destroy Trump and his supporters, the Democrats have wielded their wrecking ball against every institutional pillar of the system of checks and balances that forces compromise and ensures that our individual freedoms will not be crushed by the police powers of the state. They have opposed the electoral college, attempted to destroy the independence of the judiciary by packing the Supreme Court, attacked the Senate as undemocratic and demonized their opponents as “racists” and “white nationalists”. They have corrupted the Justice Department and used its powers as a sledge hammer to crush their political opponents. They have locked up Trump supporters for unconscionable periods of time without charges, they have prosecuted people they knew to be innocent and suppressed the exculpatory evidence; they have put White House advisers in leg irons and raided a former president’s home to humiliate and abuse them. And in the process destroyed major traditions that have made America a civilized nation.
In all these assaults on the American heritage, their attacks on President Trump – baseless, vindictive and yes – deranged, have been the vehicles through which they have advanced their true agenda which is to discredit, diminish, defame, and ultimately destroy this country and replace it with a one-party state. The slings and arrows that Trump has taken for his country – for attempting to defend its borders, for example, and stop the rape and slaughter of thousands of unaccompanied minor children lured to their fates by Joe Biden, are really aimed at the 75 million people who voted for him in 2020.
The latest indictment of Trump over charges that a long line of Democrat prosecutors refused to prosecute – because they were so flimsy and so obviously politically motivated – is worse than just an abuse of the law. It is the greatest example of contempt for the American presidency. It is also the most egregious election interference in U.S. history. And it is the latest attempt by Democrats who have a sickeningly long record of attempting to rig elections and give themselves the transformative majorities that Americans won’t give them.
The left has always wanted to overturn the system the United States grew accustomed to. Hard work, rule of law, prosperity, and freedom, means nothing to them.
Sadly, this outcome was over 150 years in the making, when Lincoln killed Jeffersonianism as a major political force in this country, and ushered in Hamiltonian statism, which the left exploits.
Lincoln, with his statism and support for radical social change, was the lefty of his day, and his actions warranted the praise of Karl Marx. In fact, beyond Marx, many European lefties loved Lincoln in his own time, as they viewed him as a radical force in opposition to the longstanding aristocracy.
He took his national chauvinism way too far, by forcing a national identity on those who wanted nothing to do with it. Keep in mind that unilateral state secession had not yet been declared illegal during his lifetime.
The hard truth of the matter is that most contemporary non-lefties would have loathed Honest Abe way back when. He would have shut down the publications they read and imprisoned or deported their families for opposing war, after all. The American right must stop idolizing Lincoln. It is absurd, and he is the reason why our country is in the state that it’s in.
I think the best thing Trump could do is to respond by resigning and letting the world know that he’s doing it because the leftist elites in the establishment are attacking him to attack his supporters.
He should then announce his support for a candidate who will continue his good work.
He should refuse to attend the trumped up indictment but apparently he’s scheduled to be in New York on Monday night.
I am sure his appearance in New York, i.e. turning himself in voluntarily, is done on the advice of his legal counsel. It is likely to be both politically and optically to his advantage since giving Alvin Bragg and his ilk a reason to issue a warrant for his arrest would be much less desirable. After all, the spectacle of an arrest and mug shot of a former president — over which hordes of leftist will myopically salivate — will also become a frightening symbol of a tyrannical government that no longer shies away from persecuting its political opponents. If that visual will not be a wake-up call for every equal-justice oriented, freedom-loving American, regardless of political stripe, then, perhaps, we are no longer deserving of the exceptionalism and uniqueness that the founding of our country has represented for the rest of the world.

Mr. Horowitz is right when he says that an attack on Trump is an attack on America. So is the firing of political opponents in academia, the pretrial confinement of nonviolent January 6 protesters, or the conviction of Douglass Mackey in a New York federal court this past Friday for 2016 tweets in which he jokingly suggested that supporters of Hillary Clinton could ‘vote’ for her via text message.
This is what is at stake at this point in our nation’s history: a win for freedom and the American creed, or a surrender to Marxism. The choice is that simple.
Too weak – that would be handing the Left a tremendous victory. Should he allow them to hustle him into prison without a whimper as well? And exactly what candidate would “continue his good work”? DeSantis is probably the only Republican besides Trump with an outside shot at winning in 2024 (the Democrats are going to harvest millions of ballots) and he remains a largely unknown quantity with some very unsettling backers and allied (e.g. Karl Rove seems to have joined his campaign secretly).
Democrats must be hammered until they give up on imprisoning Republicans for being opposed to the Uniparty in Washington.

If Trump isn’t locked up it will be because even a Democrat Judge dismisses this case or because even a Democrat jury can’t believe in the preposterous case Bragg has assembled. Or perhaps because Republicans finally wake up to the sheer evil of the Democratic Left and make it clear they won’t allow them to imprison Trump.
So, even if Trump is obviously guilty (and he is) you still don’t want him in the slam. So you have ZERO respect for the rule of law. That doesn’t surprise me.
Trump’s legal options:
1. Move the indictment be quashed on the grounds (1) that the statute of limitations has run; (2) that the change does not state a public offense (New York does not have jurisdiction over the non-crime of the Stormy payoff as a campaign finance violation). If that fails,
2. Move for a change of venue to upstate New York where he might actually get something close to a fair trial. If that fails,
3. Go to trial and try to get some sane and decent people (i.e. non-Democrats) on the jury and hope for acquittal. Force Bragg to produce any internal memos he wrote on his initial decision not to prosecute Trump – they would be powerful evidence in his favor. If that fails:
4. Appeal using the grounds in (1), (2), and whatever further outrages the prosecution commits during trial.
Let’s see what we’ve got here:
1) (1) Statue of limitations. This could be a valid argument. Cuomo suspended things a bit due to COVID. That’s been used in who knows how many cases in NY already so it’s probably not going to work. As a side note it’s very telling your first (and really only) real out from trump is a technicality. The kind of thing righties claim to not like.
1) (2) You actually think the prosecution didn’t make sure they had jurisdiction? Really?
2) It would still be in New York. You want trump to pick his jury and that’s not happening.
3) Tribalism. You’re just talking about tribalism.
4) You can’t appeal based on obviously incorrect argument. For the end you promise – in advance – to get mad about whatever the prosecutor does as the case moves forward.

Let’s say my liberty is at level X. The Democrats propose legislation – based on power that no part of the Constitution gives them – that would move it to X-5. The Republicans compromise, and my liberty ends up at X-3. How am I better off with this compromise than I would be if they had actually obeyed the Constitution by shutting up and leaving me alone?
