Well said Dr. Larry, though I respectfully disagree with your statement that our benighted Jewish brethren need to educate themselves. Ultimately that is the idea, but they need to be approached and welcomed by us Orthodox wherever appropriate so that we can begin their educations with the understanding that it is possible for them to practice authentic Judaism. Many have been brainwashed by their educational institutions to believe that the Orthodox are somehow stuck in the past and are uneducated and so forth. The most superficial acquaintance with even a few of us would disabuse them of those beliefs, and if they could see the joy in our lives and the lives of even the littlest of our children, they might just want to start to understand what Judaism is actually about. What we need is more kiruv — outreach — to educate these unfortunates who have no religious education. Who knows? We might even turn them into Republicans!

Actually we do now how American Jews vote and we know why.

Orthodox Jews, the ones who keep the Sabbath, keep Kosher, go to synagogue to pray daily and send their children to Jewish schools vote greater than 80% Republican.

Non-Orthodox Jews vote at least 85% Democratic. Many of them think they vote Jewish values, but they have been miseducated Jewishly.

The reason is that Reform and many Conservative institutions went Marxist well over a hundred years ago as did the majority of Jews in Europe in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

We pray that our brethren would educate themselves and return to real Judaism.
