So ‘scuse me, but materialists somehow have supposedly impeccable reasoning why they are smarter than the highest trained philosophers of the ancient and classical periods from every civilization throughout history. They are now in the driver’s seat in Western academiat, and claim that “science” is their faith and Darwin is their godhead.

Problem is, if you are familiar with science by training, as I am, what you notice after thinking for a couple of decades is that there is no empirical evidence for the obliteration of the person at death. As such the belief in personal annihilation is as much a faith as any other religion. As much as these modern faith-based believers would want you to believe like them, you wonder if they are lying when they say they prefer oblivion to continuence of consciousness at the physical demise, or if the cogninitive dissonance has corrupted their logical process and so delude themselves they are about the truth.

They say that fear of death is the basis of all religion. I say their fear of the Source of their consciousness is their basis for deluding themselves is the source of their religion. I have the backing of untold hordes of philosophers over the millenia, of all civilizations and cultures, even the tribal ones; they have the backing of a 19th century philosophical non-scientist with an agenda.

It is a very scary prayer. I like to pause there, confess, and ask for more grace.

It is sad that you refuse to give the Bible its due.

You, as an uninformed atheist, no nothing of the “Whole Counsel of God” because you refuse to study scripture. Instead you choose to cherry pick Bible passages rather than learn to read and understand the Bible as a unified whole.

A scary prayer that few look deeply at, as it is prayed in rote fashion almost absentmindedly, asks therein to: ‘Forgive Me My Trespasses As I Forgive Those Who Trespass Against Me!’
