What is keeping humanitarian aid from getting to “civilians” in Gaza is principally Hamas (which steals aid for itself and sells anything left to Gazans at grossly inflated prices) and, besides that, disruption to orderly distribution of aid by Gazan “civilians” themselves. It is not Israel’s fault. But, of course, instead she blames Israel and follows the Biden Administration policy playbook of making no demands on Hamas.

During WWII the Germans engaged in mostly submarine warfare to block vital supplies going to Britain and knock her out of the war. Adm. Doenitz was convicted of certain war crime for certain policies but no one claimed the strategy was a war crime. It was a war and you try to block supplies to your enemy.

The US employed the same strategy in the Pacific and between submarines and aircraft we had pretty much cut off Japan from needed supplies. This would have knocked the Japanese out of the war if their leadership had been at all rational. Again, I’ve yet to read anything claiming that this was a war crime.

But here, when it comes to dealing with people who attacked in astonishingly savage ways and say they’ll do it again and again, somehow blocking supplies to get them to quit is a war crime and the Israelis must aid and succor those whose stated aim is to kill them.

As is pretty much the case on the left and to some extent on the right, their principles always have the implied proviso, “Except for Jews.”
