The Movie Magic Experience

We took Mini Buff to the movies this past weekend. And we went real early thinking that we’d be kind of alone and there wouldn’t be an insane amount of people there. Well, apparently, Wall-E is still pretty big. We were in a full room. A small room, but a full one.

First off, he kept talking. We kept having to shoosh him. Then he wouldn’t sit still. We had to put our legs up to keep him from running off and around the room. I honestly don’t think he watched any of the movie. But you’re probably wondering why we didn’t leave. Well it was a cute movie, and I’m not one to spend about $50.00 then just walk out of the building. Unless I’m at the mall. :D

But we tried, much to the objection of the hubby. But I had to know how he’d act. I’m curious like that. I think next time there is something out that the baby wants to see, we’ll wait for it to come out on video.

    Haha, kids are like that!

    Have you got anything called Mums N Bubs sessions where you live? In Australia, we have specific movie sessions in the middle of the day for mums and young children to attend, so other people in the cinema can’t get annoyed about having kids crying, screaming, running around, etc!

    I haven’t seen Wall-E, but I didn’t know it was still going so strong. Wow, you guys are brave to bring the young one to the theatre, like you said, you had to test and find out as well. Glad you know now to just buy it from video next time ^_^

    lol, kids! My parents never took me to the theater until I was definitely old enough to sit still and pay attention, and I think they might have had the right idea. I can’t imagine that you ended up seeing much of the movie, what with having to corral the little one.

    I’ve never taken children to a movie because of that. It’s just safer and cheaper to watch it at home. I don’t blame you for not leaving though. It was a really cute movie, I went to see it and didn’t have the excuse of a child wanting to see it. haha. My hubby even thought it was good. :)

    Your lucky that it’s only the kids you have to put up with, i can’t even go watch even a slightly scary or creepy movie with my girlfriend, the slightest jumpy thing and she screams real loud, i feel real embarressed, i start to sink lower and lower in the chair till no one can see me…

    didn’t know wall-e was still going strong either… not bad for a film with hardly any dialogue. :) agree with destiny that it was pretty brave of you to bring the young one into the theater. don’t have any kids yet, no hubby yet in fact, but i think if i did, i’d be too terrified to bring my kid to the cinema. :O i’d go with dvd’s.

    but it’s cool that you gave it a try… it might have worked out after all, who’s to say? …

    and $50! ouch! where i’m from, a ticket averages the equivalent of around $3 still… i think (hmmm… not so sure… been a while since i’ve seen a movie at the theater)…

    Wall-E was a cute film. I especially liked the little rabbit and magician animation intro which wasn’t part of the film but still enjoyable nonetheless!

    I suppose you would never know how a child will behave in a theater until you take him to a movie. I think it was a good idea to give it a try. Now you know that you may have to wait until he’s a bit older before he can appreciate going out to a movie. And in the meantime there’s nothing wrong with watching a DVD at home. :)

    LOL, kids! i have a similiar experience and it’s quite embarrassing because you know that other people are bothered with all the loud noises a kid is capable of producing, and you know what? shooshing does not do the trick… :)

    Yeah my niece is the same, she’s just turned 5 and still can’t sit still in a cinema, but eventually she will, she’s good with dvds etc, but has a bit of a chatter during it. At least you tried :)

    As troublesome as that sounds, it’s nice to spend time with your family.
    Mmm, little kids have such adhd. Isn’t it nice relaxing at home with a movie though? My family still does it every weekend (all hail netflix) and I’m 17 now.

    I hope you enjoyed the movie, I know my family did. We find it is much easier to just stay home and re-create the movie experience instead of the craziness that is the movie theater with young children.
