You Know You’re A Mother When

You wake up on Saturday morning to get your kids ready for school.

Honest to blog, I woke up at 8am to get my son ready for school. I fed him, got his clothes and his bag together, sat him down to play Mario Cart for a while, and waited for 12:00pm to roll around. Then I got online, looked at my desktop calendar and went, “Son of a bitch…” I coulda been sleeping for a couple more hours. But at least now I know that my son is on a schedule, which is good. I on the other hand hate getting up early for no reason.

I guess that’s how it goes in parenthood…

  1. Well, kudos to you for having your child up, dressed, and fed on a Saturday! I too love to sleep in and would have been kicking myself. :-)

  2. Oh no! Maybe you can have a nap later on. :)

  3. Ah, that sucks! (all that sleep you missed)
Not trying to rub it in or anything, ya know?
    ROFL!

I think you need some rest! I don’t think I ever did that, some other dumb things but not that.

    Hi Jenny,

I can relate! It is such a trip how conditioned we are, isn’t it? We are so on autopilot it isn’t even funny. I can’t sleep in for the life of me because my damn brain and body decides that no matter what I DON’T have to do on the weekend, it’s still gonna harass me until I remove myself from my own comfort LOL! So…I feel your pain. And poor baby! He is on the same schedule to have gotten up w/o a fight – but maybe it was the video game treat :-)

    Take care,
    Traci

Parenting is a full-time job. Your life is pretty much dedicated to your kids.

That’s kind of cute, but frustrating all at once. I would be very disappointed to have missed out on those extra sleeping hours for sure.

Yep. That’s how it goes. At least you didn;t do it Saturday AND Sunday. Did you?

I guess when these scenarios happen, it’s time to a little tweaking of the daily routine. :-) Take it easy.

Ooooh. It really does happen. I think my mom has done this, once before. Fortunately we were too sleepy to wake up and I remember shouting “It’s Saturday today! Just go back to sleep mom!” LOL!

    Hahaha no, thank god.
