Nov18Monetize Your Tweets

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Sponsored Tweets. All opinions are 100% mine.

Everyone is trying to make money with everything lately. Blogs, reviews, article writing. And now Twitter. But I don’t have a problem with this because I do it myself. And it works. The Izea folks have opened a new website called Sponsored Tweets. To sign up for sponsored tweets, you sign in using your twitter account or an email ( your choice ), add your name to the list and fill out all the necessary information and you’re well on your way to making money with your tweets. Advertisers find you and ask you to tweet this or that and if you do, you get paid. It’s kind of cool :)

What I find most interesting about this program is a lot of celebs are using this service, including Kim Kardashian, Bob Vila, Sister Hazel and Leann Rimes! Why they would need the money though is weird to me, but the fact that they’re on Twitter and that they’re part of the program is nifty. They feature a different one every day on the front page and I love reading their tweets. Some of them are definitely interesting.

SponsoredTweets.com is an online marketplace that allows you to connect directly with advertisers to engage in sponsored conversations through Twitter. Advertisers compensate you with cash in exchange for a sponsored tweet. Think of it like eBay for tweets.

And they have a great referral program as well where if you have people sign up under you, you get paid when they do. It’s great! I definitely recommend using them over the other “get paid to tweet” sites (they look kinda shady!). You can find out a little more info about it here. So what are you waiting for? Get started today!

  1. While sponsored content on blogs makes sense to me, I find irrelevant ads in people’s personal twitter or microblog feeds damaging to the medium overall and a good reason to unfollow someone. I wouldn’t want a text message or IM for a product/service I hadn’t expressed an interest in and unless there was some stronger connection to the product/service being repped, I would see it as a little invasive. Regardless of my feelings on the matter, I’m curious to the results… keep us updated!

this is what you call MONETIZING the SOCIALIZATION …lovely…

  3. Sounds like a 140 character review to me if you sign up. It could be real tricky to stay objective and say both good and bad (and maybe even ugly) in 140 characters!

I am not against the idea, but will not sign up myself.

Like Chris’s comment above, I wonder if this would actually result in people un-following you. I would love to find out!

Now having said that, getting sponsorship for a focused Twitter chat party probably makes sense and I have seen people do that frequently on Twitter.
