Oct25Dawn of the Dinosaurs

I have to admit, I had doubts about this new Ice Age movie. When I saw the word Dinosaur next to the word Ice Age… yes I know it’s just a movie, but scientifically, it’s impossible. And I didn’t really want to watch it because I thought, a third movie. The second one kinda bored me, and this one can’t really be any better. But I actually enjoyed watching it. And I had a good laugh with it as well.

Sid finds some potentially abandoned eggs an calls them his own.

Sid finds some potentially abandoned eggs an calls them his own.

The whole thing starts when Diego leaves the “herd” because he feels he is getting to soft and is losing the ferociousness that makes him the tiger he is. Then Sid feels left out because Manny And Elly are having a baby, so he goes off on his own and runs across some eggs under the ice. Being the loving sloth he is, he makes the eggs his new family and the chaos begins.

They didn’t do to bad of a job making the audience believe or at least give them the illusion that these two worlds belonged together. You may be wondering, where did the dinosaurs come from? Where are/were they? Well, I won’t give it away completely, but I will tell you this. Think Journey to the Centre of the Earth. I think a couple of the species were made up, yet based on actual cretaceous period species. And they designed them to do their thing and at the same time, they don’t scare the snot out of the little kids that are gonna be watching this. Especially the mommy T-Rex. xD

This is a great family film and I really think everyone who watches it is going to enjoy it. Our family definitely did.

I never really got into the Ice Age movies and I didn’t know it did so well in the box offices for them to have 2 sequels! It’s cute though but I never really enjoyed them too much.

  13. OMG! I had to stop reading in case you gave away the plot. haha! I get these movies on DVD from netflix. That way, no one has to know that I watch kid movies. Um, and it didn’t even occur to me to wonder whether dinosaurs and ice age go together. Willing to suspend my disbelief for the sake of being entertained.

    • Jenny says:

Yea, I didn’t do that. ;) I tried really hard not to. That’s why the review is kinda crappy.
