My son insisted on calling someone to wipe him until he was 5 y/o. When suddenly we realized that he hadn't done that, we congratulated him on learning to do it himself and realized that he had been pulling up his pants without wiping and then hiding the offensive articles of clothing. Oh joy! The doctor told me that sometimes the brightest children are the latest to be weaned off of diapers...they put all their mental energy into taking in everything around them and converting it to knowledge, that they let other things go.
