My daughter’s first word was sh*t. That was years ago, and I rightfully blamed myself. Well, you know, sh*t happens. I agree with Suzette’s advice, if you don’t dwell on it children will let it go.

That shows how quickly our kids pick up our words huh!

The other day my husband said “Sh*t” in the car, immediately my 3yo son repeated that, finding it funny. He kept saying “Sh*t, Sh*t, Sh*t…” and followed by giggles.

The best way is to ignore, pretend that you don’t hear. My son felt bored afterwards, and forgot this completely the next day.

Whoa! That’s indeed a shocker. Hopefully the kid forgets the word in time… so long as he doesn’t have to hear it around adults or from other sources (although that wouldbe kind of hard to avoid…)

My aunt hurt her self and said F———-CK really loudly and so for like a while i kept saying f—ck f-ck f———————ck my cousins where with me and my mother was like if you don’t laugh and you ignore her she will get bored and stop saying it.

i didn’t know what it meant since my mother tried not to curse around meh. so if he used it in a OMG shocking term he understands its meaning which is cool but just kick ‘em he’ll stop

Oooooh! How old is he? If it wasn’t just a one off, maybe give him a time out (a minute for every year of his age) every time he says it. After a week or so he should get the message that he is not to use those words.

Maybe make sure he doesn’t watch any shows with you that have swearing in??
