Nov24A Bounty On My Head

Yes, you heard right. There is officially a price on my head. By a spider!!

Yesterday my son was home sick from school. Well, he got cold and wanted to wear my hoodie, but when I went to put it on him, I found a giant egg sack on the neck behind the hood. Well, I threw out the hoodie and put my aquarium one on him instead.

A few minutes later I feel something crawling up my arm and when I look to see what it is, there’s a huge brownish blonde spider looking right at me. I swear to god this thing was the size of a barbie head. I freaked out, jumped from my chair to the kitchen and started jumping around to get it off me. *shivers* So I go back to the computer to play CafeWorld (friend me if you play too) and about twenty minutes later I feel something crawling up my arm again. It’s the same friggin’ spider! Again I freak out and run for my life. This happened once more before I finally got rid of it. I guess it wasn’t to happy I keeled it’s babies.

But seriously! It couldn’t have found somewhere other then my clothes to lay it’s eggs?! I’m afraid to wear anything of mine again. :*(

Pst, don’t forget to check out the giveaway below

We have spider problems at our casita, too! Brown ones, black ones, albino ones…every time someone from the familia is found sporting a huge red WELT, we know from whence it came! SITS sent me by, and I’m glad they did…

  4. Beth P says:

Oh.my.god. I probably would’ve run screaming from the house.

I’m sorry that spider had a vendetta against you. I’m glad you were able to get rid of it, though.

I have the heeby jeebies just thinking about this! Yuck.

I had something like that happen with a spider once. It was kind of freaky. But, I never would have tried to kill it with hair spray. Are you crazy? Think how bad that is for the environment! You are a lot bigger than a spider, get a hold of yourself.

I’m actually a big fan of spiders, but even I have limits. I DO NOT like spiders in my clothing. Nothing else really gives me those chills and creepy crawling feelings like finding one in your shirt… >.< Agh.

  11. Morgan says:

Ahhh!! Oh my gosh. I think the nest itself would do it enough for me. I don’t deal well with things like that. And then to actually see the spider…yikes! You are a brave soul and you’ve lived to tell the tale!!

    Creepy crawly and insect nests…yuck!
Cute blog, by the way! :) -M.

  13. Uh, thanks. You totally just scarred me. I am going to be investigating every piece of clothing now looking for egg sacs. I really didn’t need another OCD tick…

    Hello ! =)
I’m discovering your blog for the first time… and your story makes me both laugh… and shiver. haha. I think I can laugh of it because it didn’t happen to me and because the spider came to you three times ! Wow.
But I think if I lived that, I would be too frightened ! Very too terrified. I hate spiders and all insects in general.

  16. Terin says:

Words can’t explain how much I hate spiders! LOL! I think I would have had a heart attack.

YUCK! That must have been terrifying! Once, I felt something tickling my leg beneath my jeans. Turns out it was a cricket! I took those pants off so fast, you wouldn’t believe it! Ugh. I hate bugs! I hope that’s the last you see of that thing!

    Happy ICLW!

  22. T-Dane says:

Oh, I’m just a tad envious! Not that I doubt I’d be freaked out, but my daughter and I are actually having plans of purchasing a Tarantula – although daughter is going to be the sole provider for the beast! I’m just interested in learning more about them ever since I performed experiments in High School regarding how different kinds of drugs effected their abilities! (they were not harmed as such, because we made sure they were well fed regardless of their hunting abilities) – and I’m curious to learn if I can work with myself to get more relaxed around the eight legged creatures!
I hope your blood pressure is back to normal – and thanks for a cool description!

  23. I don’t mind spiders — as long as they’re outside and their webs are far from my house. Or dead. Dead spiders don’t bother me in the least.

  24. sandy says:

I hate, no let me rephrase that I HATE spiders. They give me the willies big time. How, when I wonder did it lay eggs on your sweatshirt? Hope you were able to kill it when you jumped around. Wash your sweatshirt in really really hot water to get rid of all residue. Be on the lookout for others.

Hope your son is feeling better now.

    Sandy

  25. Kristin says:

Eeeeewwwwwww…lemon water (like lemonade but no sugar) sprayed along your windows and doors will keep the spiders away.

  26. Lynsey Jones says:

oh my gosh, the one thing I can NOT handle is spiders, so I feel for you big time. I once had a gigantic spider over my pond, and my dd talked me into letting it live. We went out of town for a week and came home to a full infestation of hundreds of the little things all over my yard… I seriously wanted to move. LOL

Glad you got it “handled”…. whew

  27. Caity says:

Oh my gosh I’m a total baby when it comes to bugs – especially spiders! I would have completely freaked out. Eeeeeeeek!

  28. Ana says:

That sounds both scary and icky :P But maybe the fact that it was larger was a good thing. From what I hear, it’s the smaller spiders that are dangerous.

  29. manic_momma says:

    haha!!!

    Love the blog!

We live on a small farm, and tend to get spiders a lot! I’m more used to them than I was in the past and look out for them where I suspect they may be, if but if they turn up where I don’t expect I get as freaked out as ever!
